One of the most widely experienced, respected, and successful tech and clean tech communications professionals in North America, Jane has worked on a global basis in virtually every aspect of the communications business on both the agency and corporate side. In an industry where instant results are often mistaken for success, Jane has developed a reputation for constructing highly successful, big picture, communication programs designed to achieve business goals over the long term.
With over twenty years in the tech communications market, Jane has helped launch and direct ongoing programs for such exciting startups as BrightSource Energy, ZeroG Wireless, Matrix Semiconductor, Trilogy, pcOrder, Cornice, Starfish Software and Metaphor while working to build the market leading position globally for, among others, Hayes, PeopleSoft, Motorola Microprocessors, and SRI International. It was as the director of Hayes' global corporate communications program that Jane evangelized the phrase "Hayes compatible modem,” a branding forerunner of "Intel inside”.
An expert on corporate and industry issues programs, Jane directed programs to guide the development of global standards for ISDN, ATM and X.25 with both ANSI and CCITT (now ITTA), and opened one of the first tech training centers in Tianjin, China while with Hayes. Jane worked with GNN/AOL to develop the first web awards program known as “Best of the Net”, directed the agency effort and helped corporate plan the launch of PeopleSoft 8, and the acquisition announcements for StarFish Software (by Motorola) and for Matrix Semiconductor (by SanDisk).
In addition to her role as Worldwide Director Corporate Communications, Hayes Microcomputer Products, Jane has held executive positions with Regis McKenna, Cunningham Communication, The Weber Group, Palo Alto, and Phase Two Strategies. Jane holds a B.S. in mass communications from the University of Wisconsin with an emphasis on the theory and history of communication and information management.
